Our Sunday Morning Experience at Saint Andrew UCC
We gather together . . .
Adults meet each Sunday at 9:00 AM for a light breakfast and announcements in our gymnasium.
Sunday School, for all ages, begins at 9:15 AM.
Our Sunday Morning Sanctuary Worship service begins promptly at 10:30 AM.
Following worship, we gather together for friendship and refreshments.
Saint Andrew UCC, Louisville offers an eclectic worship style with pipe organ, choir and piano music. We sing hymns for every generation, and we also play a wide variety of other musical instruments throughout the year. Our Pastor's preaching is biblically based, vibrant and relevant, pastorally sensitive, spiced with wit and humor, and spiritually challenging.
On occasion, alternative worship experiences are also provided, such as Taizé services or Choir-led services of sung carols and Bible readings.
Our Worship Design Team
We use a seasonal, thematic approach to worship in order to design spiritual experiences that are both meaningful and memorable. A team of laypersons works with our Pastor and Minister of Music in order to create, and collaboratively design, worshipful occasions that correlate with the Revised Common Lectionary and the ecumenical Christian liturgical calendar.
Children and Youth above the 6th grade, are regular participants in our worship gatherings. Some of their activities within Sanctuary worship include a "Chancel Steps Talk," singing, playing bells, greeting, acolyting, reading, ushering, and participating in periodic dramatic readings of the Scriptures. All children are also welcome to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion, after they and their parents have discussed this concern and, together, make this decision.
Child Care for those of nursery age is provided each week during our 10:30 AM Sunday Morning Sanctuary Worship service.
Children's Chapel is offered for children of school ages Kindergarten to 6th grade. It is always lead by at least two adults and takes place on Sundays beginning at 10:30 AM during regularly scheduled congregational worship time, but in a separate worship center. Children as young as age 3 may attend if parents and leaders agree that the individual child is of an appropriate level of maturity.
The Children's Chapel is a safe, quiet and special place where children are encouraged to wonder about a sacred story, parable or liturgical event that is presented for that day. Arts and crafts are available for the children to use while they listen to their hearts for God's Word.

Saint Andrew UCC celebrates its
sixth year as an
Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation!
We welcome everybody (as Jesus would!); and "discerning the signs of our times," we are particularly intentional about extending a special welcome to, and full affirmation of, folks from among the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community. For more information, see our ONA page.
