Our Church Leadership

Our Church thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are a few of the people that make our church community special:


Dr. Jimmy Watson- Pastor

Dr. Watson arrived at St. Andrew in July, 2007 after serving for several years at St. Mark UCC in Terre Haute, Indiana. He is originally from Texas. Since 1990 he has served churches in Texas, Missouri, Indiana, and now Kentucky. He was ordained by the North Texas Association of the South Central Conference (UCC) in 1993. His educational background includes a B.A. (1987) and M.A. (1989) from Hardin-Simmons University and a Ph. D in Christian Ethics from Baylor University (1996).

 

 


J.R. Cannaday - Minister of Music

J.R. is a native of Viriginia and received his undergraduate degree in music from Bridgewater College in 1985. He moved to Louisville to attend Southern Seminary and graduated with a Masters of Church Music degree in 1996. He has over thirty years of music ministry experience and has served as Organist and Minister of Music at churches in both Louisville and Virginia. He was called to St. Andrew in May of 2005.


 


Teresa Adams - Church SecretaryTeresa came to St. Andrew in March 2006. She has nearly 20 years experience as an executive and administrative assistant. She has previously worked for Congregation Anshei Sfard and Caretenders, Inc. Her work experience incldues computer software programs, accounting, contract analysis and negotiations, and training/supervising administrative support staff.

 


David Sickbert - Council PresidentDavid joined St. Andrew in 1999. He was previously a member at St. Matthew UCC. David has had the opportunity to serve on the Church Council as well as several Teams, including Nominating, Staff Relations, and Stewardship. 

 

 

 

Donna Wenzel - Parish Nurse Donna received her nursing education at Evangelical Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating in 1955. She has worked as a medical/surgical nurse and in acute care. As our Parish Nurse, she is a wholistic health educator, a personal health counselor, an advocate and resource person, and a liaison to community health organizations. She works with health related programs and church staff, and takes blood pressures monthly.
